How to Get to Los Pinares

Google Maps sometimes suggests an incorrect route via an impassable forest track. We strongly recommend using Waze (link above) and never leaving paved roads.

Gran Canaria Airport (LPA)

Average time: 1h30  |  Route: GC-1 → GC-120 → GC-130 → GC-661 → El Juncal de Tejeda

Wide road, well signposted, easy to follow. The final climb is stunning: pine forests, volcanic ridges, views over Tejeda.

Maspalomas / Playa del Inglés

Average time: 1h20  |  Route: GC-60 (Fataga → Tunte → Ayacata) → GC-600 → GC-661 → El Juncal

The GC-60 is one of the most beautiful roads in Gran Canaria: gorges, cliffs, perched villages, incredible light.

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

Average time: 1h20  |  Route: GC-15 (Santa Brígida → San Mateo → Cruz de Tejeda) → GC-60 → GC-600 → GC-661 → El Juncal

A mountainous but wide road, very pleasant, perfect for discovering the center of the island.

Puerto Rico / Amadores

Average time: 1h30  |  Route: GC-1 → GC-60 (Fataga → Tunte → Ayacata) → GC-600 → GC-661 → El Juncal

You leave the south coast to climb toward the center of the island: the landscape gradually changes from dry volcanic terrain to high-altitude pine forests.

Agaete / Puerto de Las Nieves

Average time: 1h40  |  Route: GC-2 → GC-210 (Artenara) → Tejeda → GC-600 → GC-661 → El Juncal

A spectacular road, with panoramic views over the ravines of the northwest.

🛣️ GC-661 has been fully resurfaced since summer 2024 → perfect road

🛜 Satellite WiFi at the house → reassuring for guests

⛽ As a precaution, fill up before heading up, even though we have a good network of petrol stations. Tejeda petrol station: Mon–Sat 6:00am–9:00pm / Sun 8:00am–7:00pm
